Introduction
Welcome to this comprehensive guide on how to use 'Coupons' in the Truckbays dashboard. This guide will provide a step-by-step walkthrough and address some frequently asked questions regarding Coupons.
Before getting started
Here are some frequently asked questions about the 'Coupons' tab.
How do Coupons work?
Please note the following key points about using coupons. Coupons are applicable only to monthly reservations. They can only be used before checkout or during an invitation, not after a reservation has been created. Additionally, coupons are applied to each selected bay individually, not to the total price. For example, if you have a $20 coupon and a customer uses it for 3 bays, the discount will be applied to each bay separately, not the total price. With these guidelines in mind, you'll be able to maximize the benefits of the Coupons feature.
What is a Coupon used for?
A coupon in Truckbays is used to provide a customer with a discount for a specified time period before a reservation has been created. This is not intended for permanently altering a specific customer's price after a reservation has been created; for that, use our "Price Points" feature. A coupon can be applied to specific customers or the entire lot. For instance, if you're running a promotion for your yard, the first few people who sign up with a specific coupon code could receive a $20 discount on their first month.
What is the difference between an automatically applied coupon and a manually applied coupon?
An automatically applied coupon will apply the discount to all customers when they sign up, meaning customers will see the discounted price on your listing (view step 6). A manually applied coupon, on the other hand, requires the customer to enter the coupon code at checkout for the discount to be applied (view step 7).
How can customers find out about coupons
At the end of the coupon creation process, you can copy the coupon code and share it as you see fit, depending on the parameters of the coupon. For example, you can share a coupon code on your yard's social media, and whoever applies the code at checkout will get 10% off.
Can I cancel a Coupon?
Yes, a coupon can be canceled at any time by selecting "View details" and clicking "Cancel." This will take effect the next time the customer is charged.
