Introduction
The "Open/Close Gate" tab offers various features. This thread will address questions about this tab and its associated features.
Before Getting Started
In this section, we will be addressing some of the frequently asked questions that most users have when it comes to understanding the functionalities and features of the "Open/Close Gate" tab within our application.
Can anybody open the gate from anywhere?
As the owner or manager of the yard, you possess the unique capability to open the gate from any location globally, no matter how far away you might be. This level of control ensures that you maintain full authority over the accessibility of your property. On the other hand, truckers or guests have a more limited capacity. They can only trigger the gate to open when they are in close proximity to it. This ensures that unauthorized access is minimized and your property remains secure at all times.
What happens to gate access if the device fails?
In the highly unlikely event that the gate opener device fails or stops working, we have implemented a robust failsafe mechanism. This mechanism ensures that all gates will default to a fully open position should such an event occur. This open state will persist across all gates until the gate opener device successfully regains its connectivity and is able to resume normal operation.
What are guests?
Guests are individuals to whom you want to grant temporary access. For instance, if you have a maintenance worker coming onto the property, or a lawn mowing company, you can temporarily grant them access through the Truckbays app.
What does “Forced” entry mean?
In the access log, the term "forced" indicates that the landlord opened it, while "unforced" means the trucker opened it.
